Lovely flying site with a lot of tourist's activity.
Actually current location is not perfect- fully covered by sharp stones spot on summit create no comfortable, difficult and unsafe for the glider take-off. Commonly used take-off's sites to North West are on the east shoulder of Croagh Patrick. Take-off to West South or South-West are on Ben Goram- West shoulder of Croagh Patrick. Detailed location will be provided as soon as possible. Additional information you can get from local pilots. North of Croagh Patrick landings are located on field near the ocean or on other safe chosen spots on the fields of the base of the Mount. Please avoid land on grassy field near the pub- owner very unfriendly. Nice spot is located on the famine monument near car parking- other site of the road. Take R-335 from Westport. Regular ridge and thermal soaring rules. Regular ridge and thermal soaring rules.
