Works best with a little north component in the wind direction. You can connect yourself all the way from here up to the marina state beach launch area. DO NOT LAND on the inside of any roped off areas....this is for the snowy plover nesting grounds and you will get ticketed.

Large open face sand dune. Do not fly barefoot here, lots of glass in the sand. Bring streamer or windsock with you, as there are none there regularly. No hang glider launch, go to the Marina State Beach for Hang glider launch. Top land, side hill or beach. Park at the shopping center and walk over to the dunes area which is under the freeway and follow the road, before the pull off area before reentering the highway there is a trail that takes you to the front of the dune. DO NOT CLIMB OVER THE BACKSIDE OF THE DUNE. The owners are trying to keep the dune intact and want people on the trails. Watch for white caps. The water tells a lot of what is going to come. Don't get blown back of conditions change quickly. Weather channel hourly forecast does a decent forecasting for here.
