Probably the most easily accessable and most popular thermal site in Australia.

The Mystic take-off is a professionally laid tennis court material (plastic grass) five gliders wide facing due North into the prevailing valley breeze and sun conditions. It is flyable most days. The offical bomb-out is on the Wandiligong road to the east of launch. Landing may be either side of the bituman road. Best to look at this before going up the hill because it is out of sight from launch. About 3 hours from Melbourne by road, turn south at Wangaratta. Pilots must have HGFA and club membership to fly here. 10,000 ft ASL is allowed over launch.

North winds can reinforce the northerly valley breeze and get quite strong. The nth end of the landing paddocks are in the lee of trees and should be avoided in strong conditions. The bowl in front of launch can be turbulent in westerlies.
