There is a fairly direct hike to launch. Find 'Chemin des Bois' off the main road, where a number of trails and forest roads lead to the top from the left,right, and straight up to launch. The best route is probably had by following the orange/green markers to Ponnay until an unmarked but well-used trail breaks off left just under a cliff band (see photos). Takes less than an hour with a pack.
Not that wide but somehow an easy take-off. Some paragliding schools use it every day in summer so it's sometimes a bit crowded. of the houses close to the landing zone south of it is prohibited !!!! Right hand base for landing south Left hand base for landing north (make a side step to avoid flying over houses close to landing zone, it's forbidden). Buses from Annecy
Actually,the takeoff is under the influence of the valley wind, so it is virtually flyable with any kind of wind direction. But NE, E, SE may be really tricky and even dangerous. S wind is also often not so easy. NEVER fly south over the river NANT SEC, when wind comes from north, several paragliders crashed nearby...
