Perfect area for beginners pilots to XC pilots. Massive take off and landings! Holding a PWC competition in 2007 and many competitions in the past (Hang gliding world championship, Paragliding British Open 2006, National championships, etc...) We have a great road to take off. We have an emergency helicopter 5 minutes away in Tremp. Lovely small town feel. Great for a Spanish Holiday with tapas, sun and swimming. We have loads of other out door activities like Kyaks,rock climbing, walking, mountain biking (7 euros half a day hire), Quad bikes, Tandem flights, light aircraft flight. There are 4 takeoffs: lowest take off is RAUDORAL. Recently created, it allows take off without going all the way up to the top of the Montsec.Its a clean fairly steep takeoff that take a single paralider (while another prepares). It is faced South and is the first take off that comes the breeze while the slope is heated. BEWARE OF EAST WIND when we do not recommend use. Height to the Camping landing field: 500 m. GPS: 31T 312693, 4656422 - GABRIELO. It is a take off with a spacious zone to put the hang gliders and paragliders. We take off only for one point, and we should look all the streamers, because it is a technical take off. It is South faced, and not suitable with West winds. It is a good take off when the North wind on the top of Montsec. Height to Ager: 550m. GPS: 31T 315102, 4655761 MAIN TOP TAKE OFF COLL D'ARES. It is very big and clear take off. It has a few streamers to show the wind. It is South faced, but it allows to take off with West winds. If there is East wind, it is slightly in rotor. In an east it's better to continue to the Sant Alis take off. The height to Ager is 960 m. GPS: 31T 313555 , 4657599 - SANT ALIS. It is geodesic vertex. It offers an incredible view: The Montseny, Moncayo, Guara mountain range, Pyrenees from Navarra to Girona, Montserrat, Monte Caro, Prades and Montsant mountain range. The take off is just on the left and in front of the firewatch cabin. It is South-East faced. Don't use with West winds. The height to Ager is 1050 m. GPS: 31T 315237, 4656809 - Vertet Landing Field. It is near the Camping Vall d'Ager. There is a sign befor the oange fuel station opposite the 'Bar Torres'. It is a rectangular field of 200 x 50 m., West - East oriented. It now has wood beams in the parking lot. Carefull with the turbulence of the trees with North wind and if in trouble use any of the other massive landing options nearby. Wind sock on top id the campsite that also has flags. GPS: 31T 315079 , 4652814 - Cal Maciarol Landing Field. One of the biggest of the valley. It's near the road to the take off. Good for all wind directions. It has all the services: Bar, accomodation, paragliding school and shop...take care with power line on Main road Its a really good option with a pig farm. It has an small aeroplane that also uses the landing and lands towards the hill in a North direction. Nice big wind sock and streamer. - ALTERNATIVE LANDING FIELD. (known by 300's field) Is a landing field situated in front of the take off 'Coll d'Ares'. They are one height more or less than 300 m. from the take off . It is used when not enough height to get to the valley. Ager valley has many great landing fields. Please respect crops in the field and no smoking in the fields in Summer as its Fire risk. From Barcelona (2h far & 180Km): A2 Lleida direction - Martorell - Igualada - Tarrega - Balaguer - cross river Balaguer sharp right - take C-12 - Les Avellanes - Font de pou - Ager. na. na.
