A blend of ridge soaring and thermalling. Possibility of going XC over the back plateau. It is also possible to XC the entire ridge from Cantamar to Ensenada, crossing thru La Salina. A typical flight, based upon your stamina, is 1-2 hrs. But flights in excess of 3 hrs are not unusual.

Two Launch areas covered with astro-turf and carpet as of 2011. Windsocks, outhouse, switchback trails, LZ's all maintained by Team Fly La Salina and Bajabrent (since 1997) Dirt/sand area. Watch for prickly cactus on perimeter of the LZ. If you get some height over the ridge, you can go land at the beach and have a beer at http://www.bajabrent.com There is presently no flight regulation/enforcement. However, the La Salina ridge is privately owned by the Ejido La Mision. You need to check in at the Ejido office in La Mision, as there is a site fee. OR locate BajaBrent and he will assist you with this. Do not camp on the site without permission. There is presently no flight regulation/enforcement.
