This site is only good for Northerly or very near Northerly wind. Beautiful flying and scenery around the whole area.

From the top of 'Sugarloaf' mountain. there is also a take off area a little below the top if the wind is too stiff on top. Landing is not so great here. Although there are plenty of flat fields on the flatlands north of the mountain, there are a lot of grumpy landowners around. There is a walking trail that goes all the way up the mountain. It is clearly visible from the air. The walking trail is a public thoroughfare and you can legally land on it. The part of the walking trail at the bottom and east side of the mountain is wide enough to make a good landing approach and safe landing, but do keep an eye out for walkers! Landings can also be accomplished on the mountain near the 'hairpin' bend on the road (also clearly visible from the air) but it requires a skilled pilot. The Vee is well signposted. Follow the signs until you find the 'hairpin' bend. There is a carpark just at the bend. On the road above the bend there is a stone monument. There is a track beside this monument leading to the top. na. na.
